Levi's Women's Leather Moto Racer Jacket

Firstly, the brown is much darker than the picture, which I liked. Actually looks black indoors and dark brown outdoors (think oil rubbed bronze). The biggest issue was the leather. It is stiff and SMELLS TERRIBLY OF CHEMICALS (the processing/dyeing of the leather seems cheap). The thickness of the leather I would discribed as sturdy (medium/thick). The style is actually ok and the fit is just a tad bit bulky due to the stiffness (otherwise I would say true to size). It is not so much a fashion jacket but a true motorcycle jacket. The stiffness, cut and style of the leather is perfect for actually riding and would recommend it for that purpose (and the smell won't be so bad outdoors. I'm a rider and know first hand.). I was looking for a soft leather fashion jacket, however, and this just wasn't it. I would have kept it if it didn't smell so bad because I like the color and style. size: M, uaually I wear S jacket, M is a bit big to me but acceptable!

style: it's general moto streetwear style, you can have it forever without worrying much about the trend changes. I like the textured leather, which makes the jacket look unique. zippers work well and are also good for decaration. it is a good looking leather jacket.

color: dark brown is rich, and the texture unevenly makes the light refections on different spot, which is I love the most

smell: it's strong when it takes out of the box, and i can't stand it ... I have to let it hang for at least 2 weeks, and i still can smell the odd leather smell ... after a month, the strong smell fade a lot, it still has that smell, but much acceptable.

quality: the leather quality is decent for the $$.

$$: i got it under $100, which is a good deal, and i won't buy it at the department store for $400 that is much overpriced.

I would have kept it if it weren't for a faded collar area. It looked as though the jacket had hung in a garment bag with the collar peeking out and had been exposed to lots of light. It would also seem that even though I stated in my return comments area that the collar had faded to gray, Amazon restocked it. So basically, don't pay full price for the black jacket in a medium.

The jacket itself is nicely constructed and the design is good. The leather is stiff and does have an odor. It's not a typical "leather" smell to me. Perhaps it was just the tanning process. I own a pair of vegetable tanned sandals that have a similar odor. But both the stiffness and smell would probably fade with wear and time.
