Summary: Lots of compliments 2008-11-10
Comment: I bought this coat in black last winter and have worn it many times since getting it. Every time I wear it I have recieved many compliments from all age groups. It looks great when you are dressed up, but also looks great with black straight leg jeans for a more casual gothic look (fantastic for concerts). The sizing is accurate if you use their size chart, and it definitely is flattering on us plus size women. It is that hard to find ultra trendy. I have just ordered the Mulberry this year because it is such a great coat.

Summary: Nice design & fabric, strange sizing 2008-04-15
Comment: I fell in love with this coat when I saw the picture. I was a bit uncertain about getting it when I read the reviews citing strange sizing. But I was too intrigued to resist. By Newport News' sizing chart, I was 3 sizes bigger than what I actually wear. If you've got a bit more sand in your hourglass than the gal in the photo, I'd recommend using their chart, and if your numbers fall between two sizes, order the smaller size rather than the larger. I think I probably would've been able to give it a 5 star rating had I done so.

Summary: Lovely coat for the price. 2008-03-10
Comment: I really love this coat I wear it often and get a lot of attention because of it. It's unique and thats what I like about it. It is meant to look like a old fashion riding coat. Perhaps 18th century, victorian ish. So don't expect it to be this amazing modern coat or something. I bought a size 16 and it fits me like a glove. It is definately not ugly at all. The only issue is the buttons don't like to stay on well, I keep having to sew them back on. Though the material is nice and it flows just great in the wind. It's a sexy coat. I also bought the flounce white shirt that she wears under it. Makes the coat even more awesome.

Summary: Glad I bought this on sale 2008-01-19
Comment: I have been eyeing this coat for a long time and finally decided to buy it when I saw that it was 30% off. Had I bought it full retail, I don't think I would be nearly as happy with my purchase.
The cut is very flattering. It was a little larger than I expected, but if I needed to take it in, I would have no problem doing it since I enjoy wearing the coat so much.
The fabric is thin and kind of costumey. There are no pockets - only flaps which create the illusion of them. (Which is why I would have been upset at paying full retail.) The eyehook closures are very kitsch and the buttons might be simple, but definately NOT ugly like a previous reviewer stated. They are a gunmetal color and very shiny.
I have already received a lot of positive comments on the coat and many people ask where I got it. I feel like I got my money's worth out of this.

Comment: This coat is beautiful, especially when purchased with the flounce shirt shown. The materials are of good quality and have a good weight when holding in one hand( in other words NOT made of light weight cheap material). black velvet, lined with what feels and looks to be black silk. The buttons are a plain round silver button ( not ugly as mentioned in another review, just plain is all) also up the front to fasten the coat are bra hooks ( little silver latches) a pain to fasten , but if your going for the look in the picture as I was only fastening a few does the trick and well worth it. I was very pleased with this purchase. And if you measure yourself according to their sizing chart and purchase the the right size , sizes are accurate and well fitted.
